LUKE ANGUHADLUQ (1895-1982)
Provenance:
Work sourced by Jack & Sheila Butler for the vendor.
Note:
“One of the most significant Inuit artists the western world has encountered...”, Luke Anguhadluq was 73 when he began to draw, after having lived as a hunter out on the land all of his life.
Only a small edition was produced of this fabulous print that depicts one of Anguhadluq’s favourite subjects. His fanning out of the dancers around a central drummer conveys a sense of community and joyous occasion.
